Collective term for the protective gear used when sparring. Each part has its own name.
- Men / 호면 – Helmet

- Tare / 갑상 – Thigh and Groin Protector
Dojo (道場)

Meaning / Explanation
A place or physical location of learning and practicing martial arts.
Keikogi (稽古着)
Do-Bok (도복)
Meaning / Explanation
Collective term for traditional Japanese attire worn when practicing Kendo. The jacket and pants have separate names.
- Gi / 상의 – The jacket
- Hakama / 하의 – The pants
Kendo (劍道)
Kumdo (검도)
Meaning / Explanation
The martial art we practice – sword based martial art which uses a bamboo sword (shinai/jukdo) and a wooden sword (bokken/mok-kum)
Shinai (竹刀)
Jukdo (죽도)
Meaning / Explanation
Bamboo sword made of 4 pieces of bamboo slats, tied together with leather straps.
